Atlanta Drive GC Announces Southern Company as Official Partner

Atlanta Drive GC, Atlanta’s founding team of TGL presented by SoFi, has announced Southern Company as an official partner.

"We are thrilled to add Southern Company as an official sponsor of Atlanta Drive GC,” said AMB Sports and Entertainment Chief Commercial Officer Nana-Yaw Asamoah. “Southern Company has a storied tradition in golf and a clear passion for growing the game that aligns directly with our vision for Atlanta Drive GC. We are excited to have them onboard as we bring an innovative format to new and existing golf fans everywhere.”

Southern Company will receive matchday activations at the SoFi Center, home of TGL, branded integration into club social and digital media content, presenting sponsorship of one Atlanta Drive GC match and a variety of additional benefits as part of this multi-year partnership.

“We are thrilled to partner with Arthur Blank, Atlanta Drive GC and AMBSE in support of this exciting and innovative new endeavor in the world of golf,” said Chris Womack, Southern Company chairman, president and CEO. “This collaboration aligns with our long-standing commitment to promote the game of golf and our dedication to fostering opportunity, equity, change and innovation within the sport and beyond.  Together with Atlanta Drive GC, we aim to inspire the next generation of golfers, promote the values of golf and continue to make a positive impact in our communities while embracing innovative approaches and new technologies."

Southern Company has longstanding ties to golf, including serving as a Proud Partner of the TOUR Championship, Official Energy Company of the PGA TOUR and the presenting sponsor of the Payne Stewart Award. The company also serves as the Education Patron of First Tee, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to teach life skills through golf, impacting more than 700,000 students annually in 1,400 schools.

Atlanta Drive GC and Southern Company will also collaborate on an initiative to further amplify the objective of opportunity, equity and access in golf.

Atlanta Drive GC, which will compete in TGL’s first season launching in January 2025, is part of Arthur M. Blank’s AMB Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE) portfolio, alongside the Atlanta Falcons, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta United and PGA TOUR Superstore.
