Gulf Guardian Award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Gulf of Mexico Program chose Alabama Power's Plant Barry for a Gulf Guardian Award in September 2009. Plant Barry won third place in the business category for its participation in the Renew Our Rivers program. Plant Barry has participated in the Renew Our Rivers program for five years.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
EPA recognized Georgia Power in 2010 as ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for program delivery. EPA also named Georgia Power two years in a row as National Pledge Leader for its "Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR" campaign promoting the use of energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs and other ENERGY STAR products.

Atlanta Business Chronicle 2010 Environmental Award - "Ennovation"
The Atlanta Business Chronicle recognized Georgia Power for its Earth Day 40 for 40 campaign that spread the word about environmental responsibility to metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia.

2009 Excellence in ENERGY STAR
Promotion Award to Georgia Power for its Lighting and Appliance program.

National Wild Turkey Federation Award
The Energy for Wildlife Achievement Award for work to improve wildlife habitat and promote conservation.

Keep America Beautiful - Renew Our Rivers
Keep America Beautiful has recognized Renew Our Rivers for the seventh time with a national award. Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, Keep Etowah Beautiful and Keep Mississippi Beautiful are first-place winners for education on litter prevention in the business/professional organization category.

Mississippi Wildlife Federation
2009 Corporate Conservationist of the Year award to Mississippi Power for Renew our Rivers and Replant South Mississippi programs.

Area 111 Alabama Association of Conservation District
2008 Outstanding Conservation Business of the Year Award to Alabama Power for Renew our Rivers program.
